My blog title for today refers to the fact that we had well over 50 volunteers helping at the gardens today! We had a group of about 30 or so volunteers, pictured above and throughout this blog, that helped plant the front slope gardens in the entrance garden. A couple of our volunteers (Ron, Bev and Tina) were also here most of the morning but missed the photo op above. It was a very dedicated bunch. Included in this group were many of our veteran volunteers as well as some new volunteers as well. We had some Mercy Health System employees (see bottom photo) come in to help as part of their community involvement. Jumbo Jim also had three RECAP ladies that were quite helpful as well. Big John and Janice helped facilitate the day and we also had some help from Del with watering and hauling plants. Larry focused on running irrigation and watering containers prior to our afternoon of weddings. Dr. Gredler was in for some mowing and Bill O. came in to empty garbage containers and shear some more shrubs. The rest of our volunteers included over a dozen members of the Janesville Area Herb Society that spent some time this morning weeding and planting in the herb garden sections. What a productive morning!
