The Home Garden Tour 2011

I admittedly had no pictures from today as I bounded from meetings to seed orders while keeping an eye out for the impending blizzard. We had plenty of action over at the Horticulture Center with Marianne continuing her "purging" and Marv helping Larry with processing some items and organizing the fertilizer shed. Dr. Gredler was in to paint as were Urban and Rose. Bill came in to help as usual and Cindi was in to assist Janice with preparing labels for our spring plant sale (May 14th and 15th, presale on the 13th for RBG members!). Cindi is one of our newest volunteers and we look forward to her assistance. We also saw Vern and some others that popped in throughout the day.

I was putting together some information for our annual Home Garden Tour and figured it would be a good event to promote very early while all of you have your calendars wide open! Mark down July 23rd (10 am - 4 pm) for this popular event that will feature seven wonderful gardens in the Janesville area. There will be live music at each home and all attendees will receive a nice event booklet that will also serve as their ticket for the event. The gardens look great for this year. All the images in this blog were neat garden features of the 2010 Home Garden Tour. I was away in Los Angeles that weekend and missed out but heard it was very well-received. This event is a great opportunity to get new ideas and we will need ample volunteer help as well. While your calendars are open, our Dinner Dance (Japanese themed) is the previous Saturday, July 16th, 2011.
