UW Arboretum (Go Visit!)

Peak fall colors are upon us! Go visit RBG, the UW Arboretum (where I visited today), your local park or somewhere "outdoorsy"! Leaving early for NYC (by way of Newark, NJ) in the morning but had time to visit the arboretum with the wife, younger daughter and my parents who came to town today. It was busy and the weather was unseasonably mild at 80 degrees F. We had a blast. The deep red fall color below (tree shot and close-up) is the deep red of the black tupelo or sourgum (Nyssa sylvatica). I'm always impressed with these and remember seeing enormous specimens further south. See further below for the muskrat we ran in to as well.
