Not much time to blog but thought a neat before and after picture would be in order. This is the change in our formal gardens over the past 20 years. In the upper picture, to the right would be the Japanese garden (already constructed at that time) and to the left, those square beds are the future herb gardens. What's also interesting is that the English cottage garden in the foreground was originally a square lawn, later converted to the circle in 1997.
