Happy 4th of July!

HAPPY RED, WHITE & BLUE DAY!

'Seriously Scarlet' breadseed poppy (Papaver somniferum) - annual

blooms of common yucca (Yucca filamentosa) - semi-woody

And the blue above is the annual, love-in-a-mist (Nigella damascena).  It was a skeleton crew here today for some watering and quick garden clean-up.  Janice, Big John, Cheryl and I all worked a half day to take care of watering containers, the yard, various areas, etc.  Cheryl and Janice also did some fertilizing, garden clean-up and John worked on some other projects as well including more work around the newly widened bridge in the Japanese garden.  We did see Bill O. this morning as he's working on replacing some of the tires on our garden carts.  Maureen came in to tidy up the vegetable beds around the Horticulture Center and Mary and Kathy were in to weed in their area too.  I'm off on vacation next week and am getting everything organized for the week.  We'll be planting more tomorrow and doing our normal pre-weekend routine.  Happy 4th to everyone!  Below are some additional shots of potential interest (identification under each image).

'Banana Cream' shasta daisy (Leucanthemum x superbum) - perennial
dwarf meadowrue (Thalictrum kiusianum) - perennial
'Blazin' Lime' bloodleaf (Iresine hybrida) - annual
RBG herb garden section - circle with creeping stonecrop (Sedum) and thyme (Thymus)
