My daughter and I went on a hike today thru a local woodland and I was sad to see the extent that the multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora) has spread thru the woodlands. These roses were prevalent throughout the woodland and while their small white blossoms are undeniably beautiful, make no mistake that this plant is not a thug. This plant follows the history of so many other invasive plants around our country in that it was promoted for many purposes only to find out later that it's a bit on the aggressive side.
