Nice shot of one of our Easy Elegance shrub roses named 'Snowdrift' above. The rose collection is looking pretty good although more summer heat would have been preferable. It was a crazy day today and I almost forgot to put together the blog! We had deliveries of shrubs and mums today for the plant sale and had to do our normal "Friday routine." We coasted thru this week on the remnants of moisture from last weeks' deluge but had to water today. Marv, Marianne, Terry, Janice and Little Jerry all watered and/or ran irrigation out in the gardens today. We're beginning to segway in to more plant sale preparations and with Labor Day on Monday, we're looking at crunch time on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as more deliveries arrive and we begin to organize and tag plants. Marianne is our organized leader with this event and I'm sure things will go smoothly once everything is here. Should be a busy week. Kay was here to weed and tidy the reception garden and did an awesome job as usual. Jan worked in the Scottish garden and Dr. Gredler mowed and worked on reseeding some thin turf areas. The shot below really shows the benefits and nice appearance of the new fence. Very tasteful and it certainly doesn't detract from the adjacent plants ('Tiger Eyes' sumac, 'Wichita Blue' juniper and 'Tardiva' panicled hydrangea). Our volunteers do such nice work! More blogging next week but less time to type! UGH.
